This video is of all our storyboards combined together. It shows the different frames of our developed opening sequence of our film. ">

Script (First Draft)

Nicole: Miserable day isn't it bubba (to Lola the dog)

Parks up/ checks phone and goes on Twitter which is when she sees the Tweet about her missing friend Olivia

Oh, God. Please come home Olivia, we miss you.

Retweets the Tweet about her missing friend Olivia.

Come on you .. Walkies! You want walkies? Come on then (talking to dog)

Gets out of the car and calls her friend about Olivia whilst walking Lola through the woods.

Hello babe you alright? (Pause) I'm not too bad thanks. (Pause) Have you found anything out about Olivia yet> Any news? (Pause) Ah, no I'm still looking too; I just feel like she will never be found! (Pause) Yes, yes I know we still need to try, and never give up, anyway I'm walking Lola at the moment so I will see you later.

Carries on walking dog and comes across the posters of her missing friend Olivia on the floor of the woods.

What the? (under her breath) What psychopath would do something like this?

Continues to walk and spots the damaged and abandoned shoe on the floor.

(Nervously looks and walks away snappishly.)

Nicole then sees Olivia tied up to a tree in the distance.

(Quietly) Olivia?

Olivia: (Screaming) Help me!!!!

Nicole starts running and drops her phone, she then turns around to pick it up, gets it off the floor turns back around and is then faced with seeing the antagonist standing over Olivia.

Nicole: (Screaming) AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Nicole then runs from the antagonist as he starts chasing her, and makes it to her car. She gets inside thinking she is safe and something catches her eye in one of the mirrors of the car. She then sees the antagonist in the mirror of her car and this is when the opening sequence ends.

Story Arc Pitch

">
This is our story arc that we pitched to show the story line of our opening scene. After we presented all of the 6 stages, our teacher asked us questions in which we answered them. This shows we knew what we are talking about and know exactly what we are going to be doing when it comes to filming our opening scene.

Analysis Of Focus Group

The focus group that we used was very helpful to our group. By having peers who answered the questions that we come up with allowed us to make changes to a few aspects of our film. We became certain on the Institution Name and a few other things, however, the participants in the focus group suggested to us that we should audition another person for the role of the psycho in our film. We took this on board and we decided to audition Todd, who is a member of our group and he showed good acting skills which we needed for our role, and shone out above the other male auditions; therefore we decided to give Todd the role over the others. This is also good as it means that he will be involved in the filming as well as the shooting, like me and Billie will be.

The focus group also said that the most suitable female characters would be me (Jody) and Billie, which we agreed on as we as a group feel that the auditions from each of us showed that we had the acting skills needed for our opening scene. As the focus group also agreed, this meant that we did not have to carry out any further auditions on female actresses for the parts needed, and this also meant that everyone in the group would be involved in the filming of our opening scene.

We also confirmed our location as we got positive feedback on Thorndon Country Park, which was our original final idea. This location proved in the focus group, to be better than King Georges and Shenfield Common, which was the feedback that we had hoped for as we as a group also feel this is the best and most suitable location. They agreed on how quite this location was and also that it would be a lot easier for us to achieve low key lighting due to the denseness of trees there.

Overall, the focus group helped out my group greatly in a few final decisions. It enabled us to audition Todd to be the actor for the 'Psycho', which is a positive as auditioning him meant that there was a higher chance of success for our opening scene as not only is he a good actor, but also reliable as he is in our group and will be involved at all times, not just in the filming.

Story Arc

To ensure that we have included all the main parts to our film opening, we come up with this story arc. The story arc includes 6 key parts from Todorov's theory which include exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution. This way means that our story is organised in a structured form with plenty of action and suspense which we need in order to make our film work.

Production Diary

I am happy about where my group are at, at the moment. We are all coping well with the work and the other two members of my group (Todd and Billie) are very hardworking and motivated which means we all want to do well in the work in order to achieve the best grades possible. I have a clear idea in my head on what my group have decided the film is going to be about and I know the other members in the group feel the same way. Even though some of the tasks are challenging, I feel that I can cope with them as I have done Media before, therefore I have a basic, and in some cases, in depth understanding of most Media work.

I am enjoying the pre-production stage of this work as I know that my group and I are all working our hardest with it as it is building up to the actual filming and being able to put all over our ideas together properly in order to film. We are focused on all aspects of the work and doing well with linking all of our work to the genre of film we have chosen to do (Thriller), and as a whole, I feel that we all work well together and help each other out if needed. We all have different and and useful ideas that we put forward, and we can all agree on something easily without confrontation which is good as this means that we can quickly and straightforwardly agree on ideas, and this saves time.

At the start, I was a bit behind the others in my group, however, I have worked hard and I am at a stage where I have caught up now and we are all working at the same pace. Overall, I am pleased with the work and how motivated Me, Billie and Todd are as a group. I feel that we will strive as we all want to do well and we are all capable of doing so.

Final Audition For Candidate

From having the focus group answer our questions, we learned that they did not think the previous auditioned actors were good enough for our film. This meant my group had to come up with another male in order to audition for the film. In the end we chose Todd, who is in our group. He proved to have good acting skills and this way, every member of the group will be incorporated in the actual filming of our film.

Focus Group

">

This is the focus group which we carried out. In this focus group, we asked questions to further our knowledge on what our target audience think would best suit different elements of our film. By having this focus group, we were able to make a changes, including auditioning a new candidate; but it also helped us to clarify and know for certain particular parts of information to do with our film.
