Target Audience Description

Focus Group Questions

1) We have decided to use the institutional name of ‘Dark Room Productions’; do you think that this a good production company name?

 2) Out of King Georges, Shenfield Common and Thorndon Country Park, we chose that Thorndon is the most suitable location to film in, do you agree or disagree with this location setting?

3) We were originally going to use a clown as the main antagonist but we have chosen to have a psycho instead, this is because of the situation that has happened recently about clowns in the streets scaring people. Do you think this was a smart choice?

 4) We have three characters in our film, the psycho, a girl walking the dog, and a stranger tied up screaming for help. Do you think that three characters is enough or should we have more?

 5) We have debated in choosing to film at night afternoon or the morning, we have chosen to film in the afternoon because we feel it will be getting dark and that night time will be too dark to film. Do you agree with our decision in filming in the afternoon?

Institutional Production Names

Dark Room Productions

This production name implies low key lighting because of the word 'Dark' which suggests blackness and and a creepy atmosphere. Also because of the word 'Room', implies that the room is black and creepy. This creates suspense & sense of unknowing for the audience, relating to the genre of a thriller.

Twisted Time Productions

The word 'Twisted' relates too sick minded people, that are referred to as twisted or mentally ill. The fact that it relates to the mind has synergy with the genre of the film, to mentally challenge the audience. The fact that time is twisted illustrates that time is never ending, and infinite.

Potboiler Productions

This production name builds up tension (blood boiling) because of the word 'Potboiler'. A potboiler connotes a witches cauldron, and is seen as bubbling with poison and heat. This links with a thriller because of poison, where it is lethal by not gory like a horror.

Open-mouthed Productions

Open-mouthed is possibly the weakest of the four possible production names. However, it still relates to a thriller film because when you watch a film, you are usually scared, or anticipating something, therefore you open your mouth subconsciously to possibly, eventually scream or say something.

Final Logo Design

We finally decided on using this Logo Design as we feel that out of all we designed, it gives the best effect. There are no edits on this logo design so it makes it look more realistic and sophisticated compared to the other designs. The colour and font of the writing tie in well together as the colour is dark, but just light enough so that it is possible to see it. The room shows low key lighting which reflects on the genre of our film perfectly and we decided to use a dark room as the picture of the design as it goes with the title. Even though there is a little bit of high key lighting seeping in through the window, it does not give too much of the dark room away which conducts mystery as to what is in the room. Overall, we are pleased with this final logo design and we think that out of all of the ones we designed, this best fits and goes with the feeling that we are aiming to achieve when producing our film.

Friend Request Trailer - Reaction Vlog

In this vlog, I filmed myself watching the trailer to Friend Request which I had not seen before. I spoke a little bit about what I was seeing throughout the trailer, then at the end I said what I thought of it and why the trailer was a good and successful one. I decided to choose this genre of film trailer because it is relevant to the genre of film me and my group are going to be making and it is useful to get ideas from other horror or thriller trailers.
